Center-Driven Airflow
Reversing fans push conditioned air outward from the central plenum through both lumber paths simultaneously, eliminating the airflow imbalance of single-sided plenum designs.

The Central Plenum lumber dry kiln is original KilnTech Solutions engineering — a center-driven airflow design that drives conditioned air outward through two parallel tracks of lumber for the most uniform drying, the highest throughput, and the best grade recovery in the industry. This is our work. Not someone else's.
Most industrial lumber dry kilns push air across a single stack from one side. The Central Plenum design changes the geometry: a vertical plenum runs straight down the center of the kiln, with reversing axial fans driving conditioned air outward through two parallel paths of lumber simultaneously.
The result is symmetric airflow on both sides of every charge — every board, every layer, every species sees the same volume, the same temperature, and the same humidity at the same time. That symmetry is the difference between a charge that comes out flat, in-spec, and on schedule and one that needs to be re-sorted, re-dried, or downgraded.
The Central Plenum is engineered, fabricated, and commissioned by KilnTech Solutions — no licensed copies, no third-party retrofits dressed up as our design. When you buy a Central Plenum kiln, you are buying KilnTech work.
Real installations. Real KilnTech steel. From plenum framing to slide gates to fan walls — every component engineered for decades of hard sawmill service.

Reversing fans push conditioned air outward from the central plenum through both lumber paths simultaneously, eliminating the airflow imbalance of single-sided plenum designs.
Twin rail tracks run the length of the kiln, doubling charge capacity per square foot of footprint and dramatically improving lumber handling efficiency.
Painted structural columns, plenum framing and roof trusses are engineered for decades of high-temperature, high-humidity service in the harshest sawmill environments.
Top-mounted slide gates above the central plenum modulate exhaust and makeup air with precision, giving operators tight control of every drying schedule.
Stainless interior cladding withstands acidic drying environments, prevents corrosion, and protects the structure for the full economic life of the kiln.
The Central Plenum is KilnTech work — engineered, fabricated, and field-proven by us. Not a re-badged copy. The reason mills call us first.

There are kiln companies that sell drawings. There are kiln companies that sell boxes. KilnTech sells finished, commissioned, performance-proven Central Plenum drying systems — and stands behind every one with parts, service, and engineering support for the life of the kiln.
That is why hardwood and softwood sawmills across North America and around the world rank KilnTech Solutions as the number-one source for Central Plenum lumber dry kilns. It is also why Chad answers the phone himself.
